Confederate Statues in a Black Memphis

Tami Sawyer, Memphian advocate, community organizer and speaker, will not be silent in regards to the Nathan Bedford Forrest memorial and other relics of the discriminatory practices and racial oppression that haunts our nation's history.

Ms. Sawyer has created petitions in order to remove these relics. Sign here to support the cause: .

On June 20th, there will be an event at Bruce elementary entitled, "Memphians For Removal of Confederate Statues"(https://www.facebook.com/events/302386153551286/). Let's move towards a stronger Memphis. Tami is an example of a Memphian leader who is making great waves in civic awareness and engagement.
