This summer Claybourne Temple is hosting the 15 Film Series where they have recently played movies like Fruitville Station, Verge, and The Invaders. This past Thursday on July 6th they played a 1920s film called "Hallelujah."
It was directed by King Midor and features Daniel L. Haynes who plays the main character Zeke in the film. This particular character falls in love with a woman named Chick who was played by Nina Mae McKinney. Throughout the film Zeke is tempted by this lovely woman's charms and has to commit within his faith as a preacher.
This is the first film where an all black cast was featured in a Southern movie. "Hallelujah is a must see film with comedy, romance, and drama.
